The only reason to wait for EDGE: your project specifically needs EDGE's non-SME eligibility.

The practical arithmetic: EDG's own published processing time is roughly 8-12 weeks. A project submitted now is unlikely to be decided before 30 September 2026 - but per EnterpriseSG's EDGE FAQ, that does not matter for assessment: it is still assessed under EDG's own rules regardless of when the decision lands, as long as the application went in before the cutoff.
The exception is a non-SME that currently cannot access PSG or MRA. For those businesses, EDGE's removal of the size restriction is the first time these activities are available to them - and the right move is to scope the project now, define the vendors and activities, and submit as soon as EDGE opens.
For SMEs already eligible, there is little advantage to waiting once EDGE launches on the same activities EDG already funds - the earlier you scope and submit under the current scheme, the sooner you can draw down.
